Chi Kung (also spelt Qigong) is a Chinese form of movement exercise and meditation to promote the flow of Chi through the body. Chi is thought to be the vital energy of the body and through Chi Kung can help establish harmony both physically and psychologically.
Chi Kung comprises of slow exercises for mobilising the body and joints and improving balance. There is relaxed, balanced movement with breathing exercises, and static postures, all with meditation. This provides space for our essential nature to express itself and grow.
Within elemental Chi Kung emphasis is placed on the five elements, yin & yang, as found within Chinese medicine and a philosophy based on Taoism.
