About Chi Kung

Chi Kung promotes health & balance through movements & breath.

Chi Kung comprises of mindfulness with slow exercises, incorporating the breath, to mobilise the body and joints as well as holding static postures, improving posture with balance literally & figuratively.

As a Chinese meditation it promotes the flow of Chi through the body. Chi is thought to be the vital energy of the body and through Chi Kung can help establish harmony both physically and psychologically.

Within Elemental Chi Kung (taught by Michèle) emphasis is placed on the five elements, being in rhythm with the seasons, incorporating the ideas of yin & yang, as found within Chinese medicine. The philosophy is based on Taoism.

Chi Kung can benefit everyone. It has benefits such as stress reduction, helping to rebalance the autonomic nervous system & the stress response commonly known as the “fight, flight, freeze response” (a complex system that can be helped by the wisdom of the body.) Chi Kung helps a balanced posture, (thereby assisting pain), breathing re-education (Michèle has found that it has recently benefited those with long covid) and can assist those that train in martial arts.

Michèle has an instinctual knowledge to assist healing & teaches Chi Kung in a very intuitive way. No two classes are the same, and within a session Michèle may alter exercises according to the class in front of her or the energy of the space.

Michèle trained at the College of Elemental Chi Kung in London, completing her teacher training in 2010 and advanced Internal Alchemy in 2015.

One to one sessions are also available. Please contact Michèle for more information.

“Having experienced Qigong with Michele in large groups, duets and now zoom it is extraordinary that each session feels really personal to me. Michele’s talent in teaching always caters for the individual needs. I feel huge mental and physical benefits from each session and always have a good night’s sleep. “I always feel so mellow after a class with Michele. Highly recommend.” – Jane

“I have attended Michele’s classes for the past few years - either online or in person both indoors and outdoors. I have gained so much personally from Chi Kung which is due to Michele’s attention to detail, making sure we do the exercises properly and that we are aware of the philosophy behind the exercises. She is a very patient teacher.”
– Julie
