ABOUT MICKEY

I always wanted to work with animals but ended up , joining the Royal Army Medical corp in 1993 as a human physiotherapist. I had an immensely successful career as a physiotherapist & craniosacral therapist and then Qigong Instructor, but there was always something missing.

Shaylah, my now passed over Rottweiler guided me to where I should be. Initially I qualified as a canine myotherapist with Galen Myotherapy in 2020 but as much as the approach was force free, I could still see that the dogs were not being truely heard. I could see a lot of the physical tensions in the bodies of the dogs were due to social stress in our busy worlds, that would result in postures and holding patterns that would result in physical issues, but started out as emotional and stress related.

I decided the answer was to teach the person how to massage their dogs as well to try to prevent issues in the first place, through the physical act of massage but also through a deepening connection. Hand in hand with this approach I learnt to teach meditation and mindfulness with Zenways as if we don’t know ourselves and what stillness feels like, how could we expect our dogs to learn from us? This approach was successful but I felt there was more.

After a hugely stressful personal period of my life I still felt there was something I was missing. Step in Shaylah my rottie again, who started to very clearly telepathically communicate with me. She 100% navigated her care in the last year of her life and led me to train as an animal communicator. I have now completed the animal communication training with Dr Cara Gubbins in America, but decided to formalise the training with a UK based diploma. I am also currently learning more about a wolf based approach to our dogs with Shaun and Kim Ellis, The Hemene Apprach.
