What is Canine Myotherapy?
Canine Myotherapy is a complementary therapy, recognised by many pet insurance companies, that uses primarily massage techniques to help achieve balance in your dog’s body, assisting chronic musculoskeletal conditions & associated pain, improving health both physically & psychologically. In addition very specific rehabilitation techniques are used to improve proprioception, strength & mobility where required.

The session is carried out at your home, on a mat on the floor and is totally dog led. No treatment will be forced on your dog. There is a continual communication between dog and therapist.

How can it help my dog?
The aim is to assist your dog with good posture and balanced gait through the release of tension in muscles and other tissues thereby easing chronic muscular and joint pain that is often underlying a lot of canine complaints. Stress can also be an underlying factor of tension and pain that can be helped at Wolfsong Myotherapy.
Our Approach
The session is carried out at your home, on a mat on the floor and is totally dog led. No treatment will be forced on your dog. There is a continual communication between dog and therapist, through the eyes, head carriage, ear position, licking of lips, body positioning and many other signals. The owner is asked to be present because often the dog will also need to communicate with the one they most trust.
